How to setup an auto nozzle for equipments

Introduction

This article will explain the procedure to change the Auto-Nozzle class. There are different nozzles defined on the different equipment classes which are placed automatically on connecting a pipe run to the corresponding class equipment. For Instance, VIRTUAL_NOZZLE is defined on the base EQUIPMENT class

SINGLE_NOZZLE defined on the VESSEL class.

Auto Nozzle Class Name custom attribute can be modified with the nozzle class name. In this article we will change the Auto Nozzle class for FILTER class.

Steps to Accomplish

  1. Open class editor and load OpenPlant_PID schema.

  2. Supplement it with OpenPlant_PID_Supplemental_Imperial schema.

  3. Go to FILTER class and right click on it.

  4. Select the Custom Attribute>Add/Remove option from the context menu.




  5. Add 'Auto Nozzle Class Name' custom attribute from the list.



    Make Sure to change the location of custom attribute to OpenPlant_PID_Supplement_Imperial schema.



  6. Add SINGLE_NOZZLE in the Class Name field.



  7. Save the changes in schema and verify the result in oppid.

Verify the Result

  1. Launch OPPID and open a drawing.

  2. Place a filter in the drawing.



  3. Now connect a pipe run to the filter as shown below.
