Overview

While creating 2D Rebar drawings, we get by default annotation of delimiter, as arrows at both ends and circle at the intersection of delimiter and the main bar.

But sometimes user needs to provide the delimiters in different way, e.g strokes instead of arrows.
This document will explain how to get different types of delimiter terminators in various combination.

Method

The Delimiter style options is controlled by variable "DLMS" exists in display.sys file of the particular Rebar project. So first of all one needs to know which project is used for that particular model.
The display.sys file is located under Rebar project folder in Workspace folder and Rebar projects are located at

Drive:\ProgramData\Bentley\ProStructures V8i S8\WorkSpace\Rebar\projects

For metric localization typically "metric" is used and for imperial "English" is used. Under the project folder display.sys file is there and this can open in notepad and can edit.

To get the different types of delimiter style one need to edit or modify the variable "DLMS" value

Below is explained with image the different delimiter style according to change in DLMS value.

1. DLMS = 0 - This is the default value which gives arrows at opposite ends and circles at the intersection of delimiter and main bar. The DLMS=1 has also the same output.

2. DLMS = 2 - When one needs combination of both circles and arrows at opposite ends of delimiter and circle at intersection of delimiter and main bar,
this value can be used.

3. DLMS = 3 - This will give circles at opposite ends of delimiters as well as at the intersection of delimiter and main bar.

4. If strokes rather than circles are to be used at the opposite ends of delimiters or at the intersection of delimiter and the main bar, the value 4 can be added to (1,2,3) to get different combinations like,

(a).If used DLMS = 5 (4+1), then one can get arrows at both ends and stroke at the intersection of delimiter and main bar.

(b).If used DLMS = 6 (4+2), then one can get combination of stroke and arrows at both ends and also stroke at intersection of delimiter and main bar.

(c).If used DLMS = 7 (4+3), then one can get Stroke at both ends as well as at intersection of delimiter and the main bar.

5. If strokes rather than arrows are to be used at the opposite ends of delimiters or at the intersection of delimiter and the main bar, the value 8 can be added to (1,2,3) to get different combinations like,

(a). If used DLMS = 9 (8+1), then one can get Stroke at both ends and circle at intersection of delimiter and the main bar.

(b). If used DLMS = 10 (8+2), then one can get combination of strokes and circles at both ends of delimiters and circle at intersection of delimiter line and main bar.

(c). If used DLMS = 11 (8+3), then one can get circles at both ends as well as at the intersection of delimiter and the main bar same as DLMS=3
