Creating the ProjectWise Datasource

Overview

Once the ODBC connection is established, you are ready to create a Datasource (ProjectWise container for an OpenPlant project). Below are the steps required.

  1. Launch ProjectWise Administrator, and expand the server that will contain the project.  On the Datasource node, right click and select New.
  2. Select the server that the Datasource will be located on, and press next


  3. Name the Datasource and press next


  4. Select the ODBC connection established for the database and press Next


  5. Enter the SQL user who is designated as Owner of the database


  6. Establish a ProjectWise Administrator for the datasource
    **Note- This user will have full admin rights to the Datasource once it is created**


  7. Select the Create datasource from template check box and press finish.
  8. The Datasource Import Wizard will automatically start. Press Next.
  9. When prompted to select a template and attribute exchange file, select the following files
    OP Standard Template.aam
    OPM TB.ini

    **Note- These files are not yet included in an OpenPlant installations and can be obtained by contacting either Professional Services or TSG**

  10. ProjectWise will import the folders, applications, and other components of the OpenPlant Datasource template
  11. Once the import is complete, select finish. This completes the Datasource creation.
