While modeling structural footings, you may need to rotate a pad footing as per site conditions or column alignment. This document will explain how to rotate such footings to any orientation.
1. In the Pad Footing dialog box, go to Options tab. Then, check the Orientation after Insertion tick box to enable the rotation.
2. Go to Footings tab and insert a Pad Footing using either Insert Column Footing or Insert by a Point. Then, ProStructures Command dialog box will pop up. The user will be asked to Accept or Reset a rotation. By default, resetting the command by clicking the right mouse button will bring in a new orientation by 90°.
3. To bring in a custom rotation, the user may use the Angle option from the ProStructures command dialog box. Then, enter the desired value in the Key-in to rotate the footings.
In conclusion, the user can rotate to any concrete footings based on their design requirements using the Pad Footing Placement tool.
