Warning: ecad.dgn doesn't exist in 'DefaultProject' in ProjectWise

 Product(s):OpenUtilities Substation CONNECT Edition
 Version(s): 10.00.XX.XX to 10.10.XX.XX
 Environment: ProjectWise
 Area:ProjectWise Integration
 Subarea:NA

Background:

The user gets the below Warning message when launching Substation from desktop and then logging into a ProjectWise Managed WorkSpace data source. In this Wiki Article we will have a look how this issue can be resolved or fixed.

Reason:

This issue can occur due to the reason that when creating a Managed WorkSpace environment for OU Substation, a DefaultProject is created which has the ecad.dgn & Substation_Workspace.cfg. if the default project folder name is not "DefaultProject" or has a space in between or spelling mistake this issue can occur. Also this issue will appear if the user create a Custom Folder name for the default project folder.

Steps to Follow:

Note: In below example we are taking example where folder named "MyProject" is being used as a default project.

1. Open ProjectWise Explorer and browse to the path location in the Substation datasource where the default project folder has been created.

2. Next on the client machine where this issue is being faced. Launched Notepad and select File >> Open browse to the location "C:\Program Files\Bentley\OpenUtilities Substation CONNECT Edition\Substation\config\appl" and open the "Substation.cfg" file in Notepad

Note: Make sure you run Notepad as an Administrator so that the file can be edited and saved.

3. Now in the Substation.cfg file go to the last command line in the notepad to variable "ELEC_PW_DEFAULTFOLDERNAME" and check the value matches with the DefaultProject folder name in step 1. Make the changes in the Substation.cfg folder, if you are using a custom folder, like example "MyProject". Else you can rename the Folder in ProjectWise explorer to correctly reflect "DefaultProject" folder name in case the users want to continue using OOTB folder name.
