To show Gridlines reference dimensions information in OpenPlant Isometrics Manager.

Background

In OpenPlant Isometrics Manager, Gridlines are required by user to have some reference to set it from some structural element to Pipeline. It can be output as Co-ordinate label as plant co-ordinates or using column graphical representation on a pipeline or BOTH information can be shown. It can be achievable with OpenPlant Isometrics Manager 08.11.09.470 & above. There are two ways to represent the gridlines in OpenPlant Isometrics Manager.

A. Using Reference Dimension Notes in OpenPlant Modeler for Multiple References.

B. Automatic Placement Calculation in OpenPlant Isometrics Manager.

Steps to Accomplish

A. Using Reference Dimension Notes in OpenPlant Modeler for Multiple References

  1. In Open Plant Modeler. Select location that needs column reference.

  2. To facilitate the feature, check Notes option present in Piping Tab.

  3. Check for Reference Dimension option.

Notes - In latest OPM version, say 08.11.09.462 & above, user get this option.

  4. Place Reference Dimension notes on a pipeline.

  5. Create Iso Sheet and Publish I model.

  6. Launch OpenPlant Isometrics Manager.

  7. Select ‘Configuration’ Option.

  8. From ‘Isometric Configuration’ Dialog, Check ‘Show Reference Dimensions’ option as ‘ON.

  9. Generate Isometric and check Reference dimensions.

  10. Check ON Display as Label option to get a label reference. See below image.

B. Automatic Placement Calculation in OpenPlant Isometrics Manager.

When the modeling system does not provide a reference dimension and this option is checked, a reference dimension will be added automatically. An intersection point will be determined (elbow/tee) and the nearest column intersection will be determined from the external grid definition. See below steps.

  1. Launch OpenPlant Isometrics Manager.

  2. From ‘Isometric Configuration’ Dialog, Under ‘Miscell.’ Tab from ‘Dimensioning’ option, check ON ‘Automatic’.

  3. Save the changes.

  4. Generate Isometrics and verify results.

  5. Normally Reference dimension is shown graphically. But this can also be labeled by checking on Display Label.

  6. Also check output output for ‘Display as Label’ option.
