How to Make PLANT_AREA a Non-Graphical Root Object

Background

By default, PLANT_AREA class in OpenPlant Modeler is a graphical root object which is mostly used in model server workflows. But user want to change this non-graphical root object and use it for 2D-3D integration purpose.

Steps to Accomplish

  1. Launch class editor and load OpenPlant_3D schema.

  2. Supplement it with following schemas:

    OpenPlant_3D_Supplemental_Modeling
    OpenPlant_3D_Supplemental_Model_Server

  3. Go to PLANT_AREA class.



  4. Right click on PLANT_AREA class and select Add/Remove custom attribute as shown below:



  5. Remove 'Plant Area Definition' custom attribute from this class.



  6. Again right click on PLANT_AREA class and select 'Add/Remove' custom attribute option as shown in step 4.

  7. Add 'Creation Attribute' and click OK.



  8. Now go to ASSOCIATED_ITEM_LIST_FOR_PIPING_NETWORK_SYSTEM class and switch to properties tab.



  9. Click "Add" button and name the property as 'PLANT_AREA'.



  10. Click 'Custom Attributes' button and select 'Add/Remove' option.



  11. Add 'Associated Item Relationship' custom attribute.



  12. Add "PLANT_AREA_HAS_NAMED_ITEM" relationship in Relation to Use field as shown below.



    Similarly you can add it to other associated item list classes like Equipment, HVAC Network System etc. as per your requirement.

  13. Save the changes and verify the results.
