Overview
In OpenPlant Modeler, to place a correct pipe elbow of 5 degree.
Problem Description
While modelling it has been observed that a fitting of PIPE_ ELBOW_5_DEGREE was not placed properly and its ports were missing under placement dialog box. See below a circular ring get placed along this fitting.

Also check image below where ports were not present.

To ensure the correct placement, below are the steps mentioned to help user to achieve correct result.
Steps to Resolve
- In Class editor, Open ‘OpenPlant_3D.01.07.ecschema.xml’ and supplement it with below schemas
“OpenPlant_3D_Supplemental_Modeling.01.04.ecschema.xml’ schema”
“OpenPlant_3D_Supplemental_Information_3DComponent.01.07.ecschema”
Above schema can be found by navigating below project path :
C:\ProgramData\Bentley\OpenPlantModelerV8i\WorkSpace\Projects\ OPModeler_Metric\DataSet\Schemas
- Navigate to desired class say PIPE_ ELBOW_5_DEGREE.
- Add Custom attribute (CA) “Component Ports information” to it.
- To add it, go to other class which contains the same custom attribute. Say PIPE_ ELBOW_30_DEGREE
- Right Click on it, go to Custom Attribute->Copy.

- Select Component Ports Information CA and pull it down to copy.

Note – Please check the correct location of custom attribute as shown above.
- Navigate to class PIPE_ELBOW_5_DEGREE, right click on it-> Custom Attribute->Paste.
- Save & Close Schema.
- Launch OpenPlant Modeler.
- Place Elbow from Piping tab option.

Note – Make sure this class is present in your spec to get it available in OpenPlant Modeler
- Verify results. See image below.
