Background:

OpenUtilities Substation is integrated with ProjectWise Managed work space there might be requirement some times that the Managed Workspace Data Source is migrated to different ProjectWise Server. Due to this the ProjectWise Server name will be changed that hosted the Managed WorkSpace. In this Wiki Article various configuration or setting are mentioned that might get Impacted and need to be updated for OUS to work normally.

Details:

1. Configuration Setting Block:

This very Important setting that needs to be updated as this setting helps OUS with details on where to search for the Managed WorkSpace. This changed need to be done in ProjectWise Administrator. Refer to the below Wiki Link's "Create a Predefined level CSB called Substation_CE_Configuration " section and modify the existing path to the new path.

2. Parts Database Mapping

Note: This setting will only impact the environments where MDB file is used to store the Part Number data. If SQL Database is used to store the Part Number data then the user will not be impacted.

This can be accomplished by Remapping the Parts Database MDB file. For steps refer to the below Wiki Link.

This can also be updated manually by modifying PartsDBMappings.xml file in the managed WorkSpace using Notepad or Notepad++. The copy the path where the file is located and paste it along with MDB file name for the Parts Database being used in the WorkSpace. Refer to the below image for details.




3. Default Project Path:

This path is default location where OUS project will be created or restored by default unless the user changes it manually.

This can be changed in the Substation.cfg file or Configuration Variables by Copy and Pasting the new Default Project folder path.

4. Catalog Paths

Usually user might have Catalogs in Multiple paths this can be updated by using adding the new path for the Catalog on the new Server using the Configuration Variables.
