Background:

User might have a requirement where they need to Create a Custom Part in a Projects which is unique to the project. But some of these Custom Parts might have details which are common for all Custom Parts used in different project or the user may need a Template where pre populated information is present which the user can use or modify according to requirement after inserting the record in the project. Such Part Number whose details are or template is stored in Parts Database are known as "Non Coded" parts.

Steps to Accomplish

1. Open Parts Database Manager from Manage >> Parts Database Manager.




2. Now use Add Record to Create new Part Number >> Specify the name for the Non Coded Part and click OK.

3. Now modify or add the details to the various attributes of the Part Number according to requirement. Then its very important to specify the value "True" to the Non Coded parts database attribute. After making all the changes click Apply.

4. Now to create this Non Coded Custom Part Record select Manage >> BOM Manager >> Select the WorkOrder, BOM Number and Revision where the record needs to be created.





5. Click Add New >> Part >> In Add Part dialog select Select Part from Database >> Filter for the Non Coded Part Number and select it >> Click OK.
