Changing ProductIDs between V8i and CONNECT Edition

Users of sisNET, sisFLOW or sisVIEW capabilities on V8i SS4 were using these capabilities as part of the OpenUtilities Designer, Map or PowerView products. Since the first release of sisNET CONNECT Edition (CE), we are switching from OpenUtilities Designer, Map and PowerView products to sisNET, sisFLOW and sisVIEW products. Users of sisIMS V8i also had Geo Web Publisher (GWP), Geo Web Solutions (GWS) and MicroStation for the sisIMS servers in their contract.

After upgrading to CE, many of these products are no longer needed. They are removed from the SELECT contract at the first renewal after a user has upgraded to CE. The impact on the contract price is minimal, if any, because desktop users did not have to pay separately for the OpenUtilities Designer, Map or PowerView licenses, and because the SELECT costs of the sisIMS-related products GWP, GWS and MicroStation are now included in the SELECT cost of sisIMS CE.

Bentley products are listed on SELECT contracts with a Material number and a Material Description. See the following table for an overview of the products that are no longer needed:

Changing sisNET ProductIDs since CE Update 5

Since sisNET CE Update 5, we are transitioning to a new, single ProductID for all sisNET products. To replace the old sisNET Electric, Heat, Gas, Water, Wastewater and Multi Utility products and their ID's to the one new ProductID 3172, the following procedure is used:

• New sisNET licenses of ProductID 3172 are added to the contract, in the same numbers and with the same SELECT prices as those of the old sisNET licenses.
  • Old sisNET Electric, Heat and Gas licenses are replaced with new licenses of 3172, with Material Description "Energy"
  • Old sisNET Water and Wastewater licenses are replaced with new licenses of 3172, with Material Description "Water"
  • Old sisNET Multi Utility licenses are replaced with new licenses of 3172, with Material Description "Multi"
• The old sisNET licenses are kept on the contract for 1 year, free of charge. This allows the user one year to switch from the old ProductIDs to the single new ProductID. At the next renewal (in 2023), the old licenses will be removed from the contract.

For sisIMS, sisFLOW and sisVIEW, there are no changes in ProductIDs or Material numbers.

As an example, if you had the following mix of old sisNET products in your contract:

• 3 x sisNET Electric,
• 2 x sisNET Heat,
• 1 x sisNET Gas,
• 2 x sisNET Water,
• 1 x sisNET Wastewater and
• 1 x sisNET Multi Utility,

then you will keep all these old licenses free of charge for 1 year, and get the following paid licenses added to your contract:

• 10 x OpenUtilities sisNET, of which
  • 6 x Material 15308 (sisNET Energy),
  • 3 x Material 15311 (sisNET Water) and
  • 1 x Material 15314 (sisNET Multi).
