Problem Description

While working in a DGN file in ProStructures, sometime the program get crashed. This may happen for several reasons. After that crash Exception Log file created from which developers can understand the reason behind this crash. In that case user cannot able to find out where that log file created so that it can be forwarded to developer.

Steps to resolve

Usually while working in DGN file in ProStructures, sometimes the application get crashed and this may happen due to several reasons. To find out out the correct reason behind this crash developer needs the Exception.log and MiniDump.log file which user need to forward. One of the Error example is given below.

These log files can be found in the following location

 Drive name:\Users\<User's name>\AppData\Local\Temp\Bentley\ProStructures\10.0.0\ExceptionHistory

In this location one cam find the Exception History with Exception.log and MiniDump.log file.

As some crashes are not reproducible on developers machine and Minidump provided does not have enough information to trace back to function responsible for crash,

To address above problem we need to set Minidump variable to type 7

Please find the article on community for How to set minidump type 7
