ProStructures CONNECT Edition Update 5.2 (10.05.02.51)


We are pleased to announce the availability of a Rerelease of ProStructures CONNECT Edition Update 5.2 (10.05.02.51) through the Bentley CONNECT Center, Software Downloads portal. 
Please be aware, Build 10.05.02.50 had a flaw with some issues and this resulted to release again the Build.

Please note an Update from 10.05.02.50 to 10.05.02.51 will not work. it needs an uninstallation and reinstall in this case. (please make a safe copy of the workspace and files changed by you in any case).

You can of course call us any time or file a Service request in case you have questions.

Please follow these steps to download the installation of ProStructures CONNECT Edition Update 5.2 from the Bentley CONNECT Center, Software Downloads portal: 

  1. Sign in to https://connect.bentley.com/
  2. Under My Services section, click on Software Downloads
  3. On the Software Downloads page, filter the available products by the Brand ProStructures and then click on the ProStructures tile or click on Get Software.
  4. Filter the available Version by '10.05.02.51' and then click on Download to download the software.

Software Downloads can also be accessed through the desktop CONNECTION Client. Open the CONNECTION Client from the system tray and click on [CONNECTION Center]. Scroll down to the 'My Services' section and click on the [Software Downloads] tile.

iModel Connector for ProStructures:
iModel can be published to iModelHub in U5.2. Following workflows are currently supported.

iTwin Synchronizer

iTwin Synchronizer enables you to sync design changes from desktop design application with an iTwin in the cloud. Connectors transform engineering data from native design application into a schema. Design changes are recorded in a timeline of change providing an audit trail of who changed what when. Team members and project stakeholders can view, validate, and analyze the data stored in the iTwin from any location with a standard web browser.

                                                                                  

Proxy iTwin Synchronizer workflow is possible in U5.2. The prerequisites are as follows:

  • ProStructures U5.2 build should be install on machine.
  • User Environment variable should be set as described below.

IFC Export

Along with PS_Properties, following properties are also now exported to IFC.
  • All classifications like Area Class, Display class, Part Families are now getting exported to IFC
  • ProStructures is now publishing Process Status and Total Count in IFC.

  • Group data along with Group EED’s and Part EED’s are also getting exported to IFC.



  • Exporting Item Types to IFC.



  • ProStructures is now able to perform Batch Export individual Groups / Sub Groups / Assemblies to separate IFC file with metadata.

  • Export Item Types attached to Single Rebar, RebarSets to IFC.
  • Export Item Types attached to ProConcrete Shapes and Concrete Solid Reference to IFC.

ProSteel

  • Welded Shapes: Welded shapes have been improved and has been made consistent throughout the detailing process.
  • Stiffener Distribution Tool: Stiffener distribution tool now works with straight welded I-shapes.



  • General Stiffener Tool: Stiffener tool now has the option to choose Near Side or Far Side or Both Side.

  • Partlist: The character limit of the Fields in Partlist .mdb file is now increased, it was previously limited to 140 character.


  • Text styles from dgnlib can be used for placing Shape label.

  • Revision Manager: Selected part in Revision manager now gets highlighted in 3D model.

Substation Tools improvements

  • Grouping of Trestle Cap: All parts of the Trestle cap are now grouped to the middle pipe of Trestle.



  • Middle pipe as main part of Trestle GroupNow in the Trestle, the middle pipe will become the main part of the whole Trestle group.



  • Template of Truss Builder - Template Manager in Truss Builder now stores and saves data of the Arrangement tab. And the same template can be further used for next or future Truss Builder.



  • Substation - Create Symmetric A Frame as a structural object.



  • Custom pipe shape should be available immediately for usage in substation tools.

Dataset Update

Great Britain dataset has been updated for detail center templates and detail styles.

ProConcrete

Parametric Cell [Technology Preview]

Parametric cells can be created with MS solids with Rebar and saved in cell library. This cell library can be attached to any other dgn and parametric cell can be placed. After placing, cell can be dropped and further operations can be performed like rebar modification, Bar marking, Drawing generation, IFC export, etc.

Match & Extend Tool for 3D Rebar [Technology Preview]

The Match and Extend tool automates the Single Rebar Distribution placement. The tool is used for placing additional rebars like corner rebar, wall , slab , dowels etc.




Fudge Rebar [Technology Preview]

Fudge rebar tool offers the facility to offset the overlapped 2D rebar by required distance in 2D drawing.




Polycut in Single Rebar Distribution and Irregular dispatch

Now, Polycuts can be added in Single Rebar Distribution and Irregular dispatch reinforcement.

Item Types

Item Types properties can be seen in tool tip. By customizing INI file, Item Type properties can be displayed now in Element tooltip. In below image, item property i.e., User mark for rebar element is displaying in tooltip.

Free Leg Dimensions

Added support for showing rebar Free Leg Dimensions in brackets in Bar Bending Schedule.

Bar Spacing and Bar Zone in ARMA Export

Bar Spacing and Bar Zone is now exported to ARMA. In ARMA Export tool, two new Remarks tabs are added using which one can customize their ARMA export

  • Remark1 - Can publish ARMA with any Item Type property ${ItemTypeName.ItemtypePropertyName}.
  • Remark2 - In Remark2, one can write the preset how they want to get their ARMA export. E.g if one wants to have spacing, then can be written as - $d@$ns

      

Single Tie

Ability to add single tie to the concrete column.
Note: The end value must be less than the spacing to get the Single tie.


Improved AutoLabel Feature

  • 2D Bar, Bar Label and Bar delimiter symbiology and display options now can be copied from specified Autolabel.dgnlib to output.dgn file.
  • Main bar, Long bar, Bar range, Bar label and Level attributes are supported as part of this feature.

Known issues

ProSteel 

  1. Radius dimension is correct with associative dim switched on in DC settings 
  2. If the “Angle Splice Connection” under the “Steel Connections” tab is applied with “Groups” option on, it will form a group of the two separate angles and this group is retained even if the connection is deleted I.e. after the connection is deleted if you select any one of the angles with “Select Group As Whole” button ON at the bottom left then it will select both of the angles. 
  3. The “Hide” option is not working for the staircase steps if you select “Standard Steps” option under “Steps” tab of “Stair” dialog box. 

ProConcrete 

Parametric cells (technology Preview)

  1. Standard concrete elements are not visible in cell preview
  2. Pad and Strip footing linked with column and Wall respectively are displaced to 0,0,0 after creating a parametric cell
  3. After dropping multiple cells at once, rebar is lost in some cases.
  4. Mechanical devices are not showing up properly in cells when working with martian builds.
  5. Manual Rebar laps are not retained
  6. Rebar modifications are lost after dropping parametric cell. This is valid for only rebar added to MS solids.
  7. Face based extractions (i.e. Extracted faces) and intersections are not written to the cell hence not available after dropping it.
  8. MS Solid with Variable and constraints with Standard Rebar. Following issues are observed:
    i) After dropping cell, dimensional constrains don't work. (same in MicroStation)
    ii) Variables are written to cell. It can be changed during cell placement. However, it is lost after dropping cell. (same in MicroStation)
    iii) While placing parametric cells having variations, the rebar in cell still displayed the same way when it was created. Variations are not applied to rebar.
