How to Convert AutoPLANT PDW Catalog to OpenPlant Modeler Format Using Exchange Option of SpecGen

In SpecGen using exchange tool, to convert AutoPLANT PDW Catalog to OpenPlant Modeler Format.

Background

User wants to convert AutoPLANT PDW Catalog to OpenPlant Modeler format using Exchange option of SpecGen.

Steps to Accomplish

  1. Launch OpenPlant Project Administrator.

  2. Go to Tools tab and select your particular project (here imperial project).



  3. Click on Specification Generator Tool.

  4. It will launch OpenPlant Specification Generator.

  5. From OpenPlant Specification Generator window, go to File > Exchange.



  6. In Exchange window, click on New to define a definition name.

  7. Enter the definition name as desired.



  8. Click OK

  9. In Exchange window under Details section for Source, click on <Undefined> and from drop down select source catalog as AutoPLANT Source Catalog(s).



  10. After selecting source as AutoPLANT Source catalog(s), click on ellipses to select the AutoPlant source file from Open a Repository Window.

  11. In Open a Repository Window, click on ellipsis to select the AutoPlant source catalog file.



  12. Select the imperial AutoPlant catalog from your file location where you have stored the AutoPlant source catalogs.



  13. Click Open.

  14. In Exchange window under Details section for Target, click on <Undefined> and from drop down select target catalog as OpenPlant Source Target Catalog(s).



  15. After selecting Target as OpenPlant Modeler Target Catalog(s), click on ellipsis to select the Target OPP Folder from Open a Repository Window.



  16. Either select a folder or create new, in this selected/created folder converted/exchanged catalog will be stored.



  17. In Exchange window under Queries section, click on Add

  18. From drop down select Create Generic Query.



  19. In Search window, search for Piping Component, click OK.



  20. Click OK again, Piping Component is now added in queries.



  21. From top right hand pane, click on Execute.

  22. Exchange process will start, upon finish inspect the converted mdb.
