Graphics Issue- Distorted graphics- Display Graphics in OpenPlant Modeler

Overview

Problem with graphics display in OpenPlant Modeler and other OpenPlant product might be an issue with display drivers and below step will aid user to fix this issue.

Problem Description

While working on OpenPlant Modeler, user experienced graphics distortion while opening any DGN file. See some examples below. 

   

Also it can be experienced with other OpenPlant products. This might happens while upgrading the NVIDIA/Others Display graphics card. By setting the variable explain below will force the software to use the same version. User might get the similar issue while opening the DGN file in MicroStation. 

Steps to Resolve

  1. Launch OpenPlant Modeler, select Project say OPModeler_Metric

  2. Go to menu Workspace > Configuration. See Image below



  3. In "Configuration" dialog box, Click on "New" button shown at the right hand side part of it.
  4. ‘New Configuration Variable’ dialog box opens.
  5. In the top field under Variable option Type - QV_D3DVERSION.
  6. In the New Value box, enter: 9
  7. Click OK and OK again in Configuration dialog (accept the saved changes).



  8. Close and restart OpenPlant Modeler. It will generate correct graphics. 

    Note - User may perform simlar steps described above for other OpenPlant Products to avoid such problem.
