In OpenPlant Isometrics Manager, to manage various Plant North settings

Background

In OpenPlant Isometrics Manager, there is an option overcome the skewed pipeline which are rotated in OpenPlant Modeler with some degrees. The pipelines which got rotated with some degree by virtue of which its local co-ordinates get changed and it display same coordinates in OpenPlant Isometrics Manager, but with skewed pipeline, i.e. with some angle. See images below.

In OpenPlant Modeler
A pipeline with rotation of 15 deg counter clockwise through center of the pipeline.

In OpenPlant Isometrics Manager

Below steps describes on how to manage rotation of pipelines in Isometrics. It has been written in context with OpenPlant Modeler and OpenPlant Isometrics Manager.

Steps to Accomplish

  1. Navigate to project folder for style.cfg file. Below default path for reference.
    (...\WorkSpace\Projects\OPModeler_Metric\DataSet\Isometrics\Styles\IFC\Config)

  2. Open style.cfg file.
  3. Search for default variable IE_PlantNorth.
  4. Remove # sign from variable. Set 15 for angle to rotate it clockwise as in OpenPlant Modeler it was rotated with counter clockwise direction.

    IE_PlantNorth = 0 0 0 15

Note – By default, it is given as 0 0 0 0 . When this setting is made available it will override any grid definition which is defined in the gridlines.txt file.

  5. This will avoid skewed isometrics and generate in correct way.
  6. Save & Close file.
  7. Launch OpenPlant Isometrics Manager.
  8. Select project, correct I model and generate isometrics to verify results. See image below.

  9. Also in Seed file user can change the North direction to PLANT NORTH illustrating the degree variation.
  10. See below image for North symbol.
