When working with standalone mode, user has to define variable in PCF file for connection string and path of database file but when you are working in managed environment, you need to define that variable in project CSB and database file should also be in the managed workspace. This article will explain how this variable can be defined in managed environment.
This is how variable is defined in PCF file on local drive.
Users have to give ProjectWise path to locate the database file through separate variable therefore in same variable user can't have connection string as well as ProjectWise path. In order to do that, user has to use either default variable or create their own variable. In this example, we will use the existing variable (_USTN_PROJECTDATASET) to define the database file path in managed environment.
Below is connection string variable defined in managed workspace
This variable is resolved by ProjectWise as pw:\\%Server_Name%:DS_NAME\Documents\Workspaces\OPM_Workspace\Projects\Query_TestProject\Dataset\settings\ which is the folder highlighted below.
