How to Get Detailing Symbols like Section Callouts Updated with Drawing Information

Background

In OpenPlant Modeler there is a possibility to place Section Callouts to identify a section view on a sheet using the Place Section Callout tool, but Section Callouts fields information is not updated.



Below you will find steps how to fix this issue and how to have all Section Callout fields updated with drawing information automatically.

Steps to Accomplish

  1. Open OpenPlant Modeler as administrator.

  2. Select and open OpenPlantModeler.dgnlib file from this path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Bentley\OpenPlantModeler V8i\OpenPlantModeler\



    If you are getting message that this file is write protected and can be opened in Read-Only mode,


    then move this file to your desktop and open it from there.

  3. Then open Models section and delete all Detailing Symbol models from this library file.



    If you have moved this file to your desktop and edited it successfully, then move this file back to original his location.
    In this location can be saved only one *.dgnlib file. If you will have some copies of this file in same directory, drawing information will remain not updated.

  4. Close OpenPlant Modeler and open your drawing from required Project again.

  5. Place new Section Callout and verify the results.



    If some Callouts were placed previously and after this fix they still are not updating, then you need to turn all callouts visibility off and then on again.

  6. Hover cursor over any callout\marker & a mini toolbar will pop on it. Click on drop down arrow of "Show Callout"



  7. Select "All Callouts" option and click on "Show Callout" button to degenerate.



  8. Then click to regenerate the Callouts in that model again and verify the results.
