How to Control the Model Applier's Accessibility to Applications and Catalog Keys?

When creating applications and catalog keys, it is important for the model developers to determine which ones are visible for model appliers as this would help with de-cluttering the Application and Keys windows for the appliers. The developers would have access to all catalog keys, ability to allow appliers visibility of certain keys, setting a password, etc.

Solution

1. To configure the catalog, bring up Catalog Properties:

2. The Catalog Properties window should show up. For this Wiki, click on the Model User tab. Confirm the radio button for the Model Developer is selected.

3. The model developer can also set a password to increase protection when switching from applier to developer when working with a model.

4. For each applier group, the user can provide a name to give distinction between each applier group since each group may have different catalog keys selected/unselected. They can also provide an additional password protection just for applier groups.

5. The next step is to determine for each applier group, what keys does the developer want the model appliers to see. In the Cubetown example, we can see the catalog keys that are already visible. 

6. For this example, let's deny access to some of those keys for appliers (same can be applied for application access). Click on the Applier Group Settings of the pertaining Applier Group. In this example, we will not focus on the options on the left. The window has three separation sections: Enable Group, Applications, and Keys. By unchecking the X for Enable Group (black box), this denies access to all keys and applications for the model appliers. Switch the radio button to Model Applier and close the window.

7. Let's check the box for Enable Group again and uncheck one application and a few keys (green and purple boxes from the previous figure). Here, the Cubetown_RefSheet from Applications, Network and Intersections keys are unchecked. Switch back to Model Applier and it can be shown these elements are no longer accessible for appliers.
