Problem Description

In OpenPlant Support Engineering, user requirement is to display dimension in various ways. With previous release of OpenPlant Support Engineering, value populated on Support drawing was as per below image shown. i.e. in Feet and decimal.

User can display dimension using fraction and in various architectural units with the defined precision. Below steps would resolve such problems.

Steps to Resolve

  1. Launch OpenPlant Support Engineering. Select OPModeler_Imperial here.
  2. Select working file and open.
  3. Attach an I model file as reference file.

  4. Place supports on a pipeline, say Pipe Clamp, Shoe and Rod with a weldless eye. See image below:

  5. From Support Engineering -> Project Dashboard. Go to Project parameters & Check variable FracPrecision.  By default it is 1/16.

  6. From Tool Cabinet, click on Generate Support Drawing Manually.

  7. Select support and click ok to generate Support Drawing.

  8. See below drawing with pipe support and BOM.

  9. Dimension Rod Element to display a linear scale dimension using Support Drawing tab.

  10. Click carefully to dimension rod element.

  11. Check dimension with fractions. See below image.
