How to Make Properties Values Editable in OpenPlant Modeler

To make different properties field editable for Operator in OpenPlant Modeler

Case A:To Make Design Properties Editable For Cube Operator

Background

By Default, the design fields are read only for CUBE_OPERATOR in the OpenPlant Modeler. Below article will explain how these fields can be made editable.

 

Steps to Accomplish

  1. Open Bentley Class Editor.
  2. Load OpenPlant_3D schema and supplement it with OpenPlant_3D_Supplemental_Modeling as well as OpenPlant_3D_Supplemental_Modeling Views schema.

  3. Search for CUBE_OPERATOR class in the class editor.



  4. Select the class and click Go To button.
  5. Select the property CUBE_LENGTH and change the General Status from "Show: read-only" to "Show: editable".



  6. Similarly change the General Status of the other properties for CUBE_OPERATOR class as required and save the changes.
  7. Launch Open Plant Modeler again and place Cube Operator to check the fields.

Case B:To Make Hand wheel Length & Hand wheel Diameter Editable.

Steps to Accomplish

  1. Refer up to steps 2 of Case A.
  2. Search for HAND_WHEEL & navigate to Properties tab as shown below.



  3. Under Properties tab, search for DIAMETER property & scroll down to Property Display Status custom attribute.
  4. Change Element Info Status & General Status to Show:editable as shown below. Refer below image.



  5. Similarly, change same setting for LENGTH as shown below.

     

  6. Save all the changes & verify result as shown below.

Case C:To Make Design Properties Editable For Gauge Instrument

Background

By Default, the Design Length Center to Outlet End value is mapped to Spec Data, below steps will help you to  make this properties Editable in OpenPlant Modeler.

  1. Open Bentley Class Editor.
  2. Load OpenPlant_3D schema and supplement it with OpenPlant_3D_Supplemental_Modeling as well as OpenPlant_3D_Supplemental_Modeling Views schema.

  3. Search for Gauge class in the class editor.



  4. Now Switch Tab to Properties, Select DESIGN_LENGTH_CENTER_TO_OUTLET_END and Change Element info status to Show: Editable.



  5. Save Schema and Verify the Result.
