To generate spool id for components with hub end preparation in OpenPlant Modeler.

Overview

In OpenPlant Modeler, spool Id constitutes of the SPOOL_PREFIX, defined on the pipeline, and a number at the end that uniquely identifies that spool in that particular pipeline.

Problem Description

By default in OpenPlant Modeler, spool id splits whenever flange arrangement is found. Here requirement is to assign spool id for components with flanged ends as well as with hub ends. As shown in below image, our requirement is assign spool id based on hub ends.

As in above model arrangement, assigning spool id should split into three spool ids. Below wiki article explain, how to achieve this requirement.

Note: In this wiki article, changes are demonstrated for out of box setup of OpenPlant Modeler V8i for metric project.

Steps to Accomplish

  1. Navigate to your project location. See image below.

  2. Select MicroStation Project Configuration file of your project & open it in Notepad or Notepad++ for editing.
  3. Search for variable OPM_SPOOL_FIELD_END_PREPS. See image below.

  4. Modify variable & add HUB_END as a additional end preparation type.

  5. Save all the changes.
  6. Launch OpenPlant Modeler of your desired project, here metric project & verify your result.
  7. From pipeline manager, select pipeline & refer bullet steps.

  8. Notice that correct spool ids are assigned to components.
