To modify supports in bulk in OpenPlant Modeler
Background
In OpenPlant Modeler, it is possible for user to modify supports in bulk using different methods in item browser. In this example, we will modify the Description.
Steps to Accomplish
Method 1
- Open the model where you want to modify Supports
- Load item browser from toolbar or File>Item Browser

By default, Item browser has server tree hierarchy enabled which will show only Root Object nodes (Unit, Service)

For easy navigation you can disable the server tree hierarchy by setting below variable in PCF file.
OPM_OPMS_SETTING_DISABLE_SERVER_TREE_HIERARCHY = 1
NOTE: Refer link here -->>> for more details
Now, item browser will have separate node for each component class as shown below:

- Select Supports in item browser and click Show Details button as shown below

- In show details dialog, you can use ‘Show Filter’ option to filter the components based on EC_CLASS_NAME, NOMINAL_DIAMETER, Specification etc.

Filter based on Nominal Diameter:

- Let’s update DESCRIPTION of all the Supports for 100mm. Select all rows in DESCRIPTION column and right mouse click to select Edit

- In the ‘Edit Property Value’ dialog, make changes to the description in text box

- Notice the icon appears for all the unsaved rows. Right click and select SAVE button which will save the changes

- Save the changes and Check description of any support in element information

Method 2
- Open the model
- Load Item Browser and click Search button as highlighted below

- Query the Supports to be updated

- Select the Supports under query node and open show details window

- In show details window select DESCRIPTION fields and right mouse click on selected supports to select EDIT

- Modify the Description as required and save the changes

- Check description of any support in element information
