Overview
To Update/Validate spec for properties value in OpenPlant Modeler.
Problem Description
During modeling, sometimes few attributes or properties values may append as per requirement or when spec gets revised. Considering the case it is required to update existing component with revised information. In OpenPlant Modeler, specs can be validated through an option “Validation of Spec for components” in pipeline Manager. To update/validate few properties information like Schedule, Material etc. in spec below are the steps described. See below image for Schedule and Material information for Weldolet which is an existing information in model.

Steps to Resolve
- Launch OpenPlant Modeler, select Project Unit “Metric”.
- Launch “Configuration” dialog.

- Check for OPM_SPECVALIDATION_ATTRIBUTESTOCHECK and click on “Edit”.

- Enter value SCHEDULE to get it updated while validating.

- Save & Close DGN. Re launch OpenPlant Modeler.
- Open Pipeline Manager from “Manage Pipeline” tab.
- Select required pipeline and check on all component and press “Validate Spec for Component” option.

- Due to inconsistencies in Spec data and DGN data, spec validation Report will throw an error illustrating the changes done. See image below.

- Click on “Update from Spec” icon to remove the inconsistencies between DGN data and Spec Data.
- All components will get verified and updated.

- Close the dialog and pipeline manager. Select the component and verify updated results.

- Also Generate isometrics and check description in Bill of Material. Check See Also section below.
