How to Add/Remove Tools in Main Task of OpenPlant PID

Background

By default, main task in OpenPlant PID has some tools which are frequently used while building a PID drawing. This task can be modified by making changes in "PIDProjectSymbols.dgnlib" file in your project dataset. You can add tools to this task which are often used or remove the tools which are not required. Below is the snapshot of main task in Out of the Box project.

In this excercise we will add a tool to synchronize the drawing and remove an existing tool.

Steps to Accomplish

  1. Go to Workspace menu and select Customize option.



  2. In the customize dialog, open File menu and select PIDProjectSymbols.dgnlib file as shown below.



  3. Once the DGNLIB file opens, expand the Application tools on the left pane and locate 'Synchronize' tool under Plant Project node as shown below.



  4. On the right side pane, switch to Main Tasks and expand 'Main' node.



  5. Drag Synchronize tool from left side and place it under Main Node.



  6. Now, to delete an existing tool from Main tasks select the tool and click delete button on the main tasks section.



  7. Go back to your PID drawing to verify if the changes have ben implemented correctly.
