I would like to control whether section labels and physical member lines are created and/or displayed whenever I place a Beam or Column. I've noticed that the levels these elements use, S-LABL-SECT and S-PHYS-MEMB, are always displayed in Level Manager. Is there a setting or variable that controls this behavior?
The levels S-LABL-SECT and S-PHYS-MEMB are stored in the level library Levels_Structural.DGNLib, and so are loaded when starting AECOsim Building Designer since that library is by default included. This is why they are always displayed in Level Manager.
You can use View Groups to control whether the section labels and physical member lines are displayed after placement:
Click the Create View Group icon on the far left and type in a name for your new View Group
Using Level Display, turn off the display of levels S-LABL-SECT and S-PHYS-MEMB
Click the Apply button to write those changes back to your custom View Group
From this point, whenever you switch to your custom View Group the levels S-LABL-SECT and S-PHYS-MEMB will not display.
Note: The delivered seed file "designseed_Structural.dgn" includes a few predefined View Groups that control display of Physical and Analytical geometry.
You can also control whether section labels and physical member lines are automatically created through the Model Annotation tool's Member Lines and Labels tabs. You can find more information for this topic in the delivered Help file by using the search text string "Model Annotation Dialog".
