Error: XCHG0000: Invalid Translation Format: OPIM in OpenPlant Isometrics Manager

Problem Description

Error: XCHG0000: Invalid Translation Format: OPIM

One of the project gives this error when trying to Initialize OpenPlant Isometrics Manager from inside AutoPLANT Modeler.

Reason

The syspref.ini may be missing a section or project may reference a different syspref.ini than the default syspref.ini. Please check below suggestion to resolve this issue.

Steps to Resolve

Default Location

  1. Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Bentley\Plant V8i\XCHG\
  2. Open the syspref.ini file.
  3. Look for [OPIM] section.Please NOTE, if this exists move to the next section if it does not continue to step 4.
  4. Copy the [PCF] section and paste it to the bottom of the file.
  5. Rename it from [PCF] to [OPIM].
  6. This should correct the issue if not move to the next section.

Find the syspref.ini file in use for the project

  1. Find what syspref.ini is used by the project by going to the config.ini located at %Project_Name%\Config
  2. Open config.ini and find the [XChg] section (normally at the bottom of the file).
  3. The SYSPREF_Filename will give the location of the syspref.ini used by the project will be here.
  4. Open the syspref.ini file.
  5. Look for [OPIM] section.  If this exists move to the next section if it does not continue to step 4.
  6. Copy the [PCF] section and paste it to the bottom of the file.
  7. Change [PCF] to [OPIM].
