Overview

Creating Roller Shutter doors and L shaped windows in AECOsim Building Designer.

Method

Many of the delivered AECOsim Building Designer datasets do include a few Roller Shutter doors, however, there are no "L" shaped or corner windows.  While it is possible to use PC Studio to modify one of the existing roller doors to suit your requirements, or to use existing windows as the basis for creating a new corner style, there is a more efficient means to get the desired end result: Beginning with the SELECTseries5 release, AECOsim Building Designer includes the ability to import Revit RFA files. 

There are thousands of door and window types available on the internet, including Roller Shutter doors and L shaped windows.  You have the option of using the basic RFA Import tool first just to see the type of geometry available.

 

After, you can use the RFA Import Wizard as a more permanent process in order to map the RFA parameters to the DataGroup System and allow future placement of these RFAs from the existing AECOsim Building Designer placement tools.
