Background
To differentiate regular and normal comment with miscellaneous attachment annotation container should be different from the regular comment annotation container.
Following illustrative steps helps to change annotation container of miscellaneous attachment.
Steps to Accomplish
A. Possible suggestion for OpenPlant Isometrics Manager 08.11.09.568 version & above
- Open OpenPlant Isometrics Manager configuration Dialog
- Select on advanced tab
- Open your styles seed file
- Select on IsoExtractor and open Cell Creation Tool

- Open annotation cell, which is located at this path: C:\ProgramData\Bentley\OpenPlantIsometricsManager V8i\WorkSpace\OPIM\CellTemplates

- Copy NOTE_CIRCLE label and edit Circle size for bigger amount of characters. Then place Fence around your new Label and click on Create cell button. Refer to below picture:

- Save it and close seed file
- Now open User Labels and create a new label for Instrument Note class as in picture below

- Exclude this class in "Variable shape Note Labels"

- Save changes and try generate your Isometrics

B. Possible suggestion for OpenPlant Isometrics Manager 08.11.09.404 version & above
- Add new property in “Note” class.
- Open class editor.
- File>Open and navigate the project path. (below example default metric project path)
C:\ProgramData\Bentley\Plant V8i\Bentley Plant V8i Projects\SAMPLE_METRIC\Config\OpenPlant\schemas.
- Open ‘OpenPlant_3D.01.04.ecschema.xml’.
- Search class ‘NOTE’

- Right-click on NOTE to add “Add Property”
- Specify name for the new property: ‘NOTE_TYPE_PROPERTY’
- Select the TypeName: “int”
- For the new property NOTE_TYPE_PROPERTY, add Custom attributes: AutoPLANT_PDW_Property_Map

- Open OPIM Configuration Manager and go to Isometric Style (IFC) / User Labels.
- Create a new user Label type: “Tie-In Labels”.

- Specify for Include: NOTE_TYPE_PROPERTY=64; NOTE_TYPE_PROPERTY=65.
- Specify for Text: $(TEXT).
- Specify for Type: NOTE.
- Specify for Cell Name: NOTE_DIAMOND.
- To make sure to not also get the standard NOTE labels on your tie-in notes, you need to select the Note Labels and specify the Exclude field like “NOTE_TYPE_PROPERTY>1” refer below image.

REMARK: When place an attachment in AutoPLANT and specify an “Annotation Container” (Round, Square, Pointed, Triangle, Diamond, Circle) then the property PROPERTY is filled with an int value like 4/8/16/32/64/128.
When additional click the checkbox “Dimension in Iso”, the values are 5/9/17/33/65/129To have the requested Tie-In cell available in the cell library, open the cell library ‘Lisocomp.cell’ for the active style with MicroStation or with the OP graphic shell.
- To have the requested Tie-In cell available in the cell library, open the cell library ‘Lisocomp.cell’ for the active style with MicroStation or with the OP graphic shell.
- Find the standard NOTE cell “NOTE” by browsing all available models

- Make a copy of NOTE and name it NOTE_DIAMOND.
- Use the MicroStation command “Insert Vertex to make a hexagonal shape from the original rectangular shape.

REMARK: The proper way to create new symbols is to use the template example files and create a new note label template.
