Overview

In OpenPlant Isometrics Manager, during isometrics generation it displays message as “Isometric successfully, but PCF generation failed”.

Problem Description

OpenPlant Isometrics Manager, when isometrics get generated, sometimes it display a message as “Isometric generated successfully, but PCF generation failed”. This happens mainly because of incorrect mapping of End Preparations or absence of certain end preps which have been used inside the drawings. Also check below production log.

------ Convert L00 to PCF
- input file: C:\ProgramData\Bentley\Plant V8i\Bentley Plant V8i Projects\SAMPLE_METRIC\Isometrics\Styles\IFC\L00\ISO-L100.r004.l00
- configuration file = C:\PROGRA~3\Bentley\PLANTV~1\BENTLE~1\SAMPLE~2\Config\OPENPL~1\ISOMET~1\Styles\IFC\config\ pcf.ini
no mapping found for OPIM endprep: BW
- symbol not mapped: 90BW (cp=2 ip=1 cm= BW BW)
- symbol not mapped: FLNWNF (cp=2 ip=0 cm= FL BW)
- FAIL

Below steps will aid user to avoid such errors. Below example and error caused shown here using AutoPLANT Modeler and OpenPlant Isometrics Manager. However similar instances might occur using OpenPlant Modeler and OpenPlant Isometrics Manager.

Steps to Resolve

The above errors mentioned due to missing end prep mapping of OPIM & ISOGEN. User need to ensure the isogen end prep used in project and further check it back with OPIM end prep.

  1. To fix the problem, open PCF.ini file which is present inside the style folder. AutoPLANT Modeler user can navigate the file from below path, which is shown here as a default path:

    C:\ProgramData\Bentley\Plant V8i\Bentley Plant V8i Projects\SAMPLE_METRIC\Config \OpenPlant\Isometrics\styles\IFC\config

  2. Check log where BW was not mapped in file. Add BW in pcf.ini file. See image below:

  3. Also check for other message symbol not mapped as FLNWNF.

Note – Left part is seen as an IsoExtractor end prep, on the right as an Isogen end prep (using the [ENDPREP] section).
