How to link one model to an element in OpenPlant Modeler

Background

The DGN container in any Power Platform Product can hold multiple 3D models (Designs, Drawings and Sheets). OpenPlant Modeler allows us to link those models to any element so that he can access them easily and it also adds to better representation.

Steps to Accomplish

  1. Launch OpenPlant Modeler v8i.

  2. From File menu launch Project Explorer.

  3. From Project Explorer select Links tab.

  4. Expand the Design node to see the available models in the directory.

  5. Select the model which is to be linked (in this case Model 2), right click on the mouse and select Add Link to Element.

  6. Select element to which the model is to be linked (in this case it is a text).

  7. When link is added the models icon will be visible there.

  8. Hover around the icon and click on Open Link.

  9. It will launch the model automatically. Verify results.
