Displaying Labels For Areas And Assets


You can configure the view to display labels for certain classes for areas and assets. Any displayable attribute of the area or asset can be used as the area's or asset's label.

To display labels for label an area or an asset

  1. Use the Element Selection tool or the Place Fence tool to create selection set of areas and/or assets for which you want to display labels.

  2. From the Planner menu, choose Display > Label Display. The Labeling dialog box opens.


  3. In the left pane, turn on the classes of areas and/or assets for which you want labels to display.

  4. In the right pane, turn on the attributes you want to display as the selected areas' and/or assets' labels.


  5. (Optional) Click the >> button at the bottom right corner of the dialog box to display a third pane. If you have a MicroStation text style saved to a folder in your Bentley Facilities datasource, you can select it here. The labels will display using this text style.


  6. From the dialog boxes' File menu, choose Save As to save the labeling settings to a file in the Bentley Facilities datasource.

  7. From the dialog boxes' View menu, choose Apply All or Apply Selected. In the view window, labels display next to the areas and or assets you selected in the dialog box. If a fence or selection set is active, only the areas/assets within the contents of the fence or selection set will have labels displayed for them.
