ERROR[5]: DWG creation failed while Generating Isometric Output as DWG Format

Overview

In Latest OpenPlant Isometrics Manager version this issue is already fixed

In OpenPlant Isometrics Manager, during isometrics generation it displays error as ERROR[5]: DWG creation failed.

Problem Description

In OpenPlant Isometrics Manager, when “Isometric Output Format” option selected as DWG like shown in below image.

          

When user generates an isometrics then following error prompts as shown below. 

          

Error:ERROR[5]: DWG creation failed
                                 at Bentley.Isometrics.IsoExtWrapper.GenerateIsometrics.Execute()
   at Bentley.Isometrics.IsoProduction.PipeGenerateIso.Process(IsometricInstance isoInst)
   at Bentley.Isometrics.IsoProduction.ProcessingPipes.ProcessIsoInstance(BackgroundWorker bWorker, IsometricInstance isoInst, Boolean& success)

          

Below steps will aid user to avoid such errors. Below example and error caused shown here using OpenPlant Modeler and OpenPlant Isometrics Manager. However similar instances might occur using AutoPLANT modeler and OpenPlant Isometrics Manager.

Steps to Resolve

Case1

  1. The above errors mentioned due to missing file present inside the “dwgdata“ folder which is found under each styles for isometrics. See image below. 



  2. User has to check file defined inside the OpenPlant Modeler. See default dwgdata folder below where all files are present. 



  3. Update the missing file to working style folder under “dwgdata” folder & verify results. See below image after putting all relevant files. 


Case2

In some cases OpenPlant Isometrics Manager not installed properly or by mistake some files get deleted from following location.
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Bentley Shared\RealDWG2016

  1. Go to following location.   
    C:\BentleyDownloads\OpenPlantIsometricsManager_08.11.11.294

  2.  Run RealDwg2016.msi file.
