Overview

In AutoPLANT, “Nozzle” can be placed from piping module. In order to make the properties of piping nozzle available in OPIM, we need to map these properties in the schema.

CASE 1: To Populate Equipment and Nozzle Tag properties together

Review property names in AutoPLANT

In AutoPLANT, you can check the component properties by Double-clicking the respective component.
The most relevant properties to be mapped are the Tag properties (see below) with internal names: TAGNUMBER and TAG.

Steps to Follow

A. Map Piping nozzle properties in Schema

  1. Launch Class Editor and open ‘OpenPLANT_3D.01.08.ecshema.xml’ from project location.
Ex: For Default Metric project, C:\ProgramData\Bentley\PlantV8i\BentleyPlantV8iProjects\SAMPLE_METRIC\Config\OpenPlant\schemas.

  2. Expand Classes  >Plant Base Object >Named Item >Device >Piping and Instrument Component > Piping Component>Pipe nozzle
  3. Click on “Properties” tab.
  4. Search "EQUIPMENT_TAG". Then click on ‘Override’ button to override its definition.(If the Property appears in Blue Colour it means that it is already Overridden)

  5. Click Custom Attributes -> Add/Remove.

  6. From the list of Custom Attributes find “AutoPLANT_PDW_Property_MAP”. And Use Down arrow button to add AutoPLANT_PDW_Property_MAP to “Applied custom attributes.” See image below:

  7. Click OK.
  8. A New property map is added to the "EQUIPMENT_TAG" property definition. See image below:

For “PropertyName” (highlighted above), Type “TAG” (which is the Auto PLANT property which needs to map to Equipment_Tag)
This same procedure needs to follow for the “NUMBER” property (which needs to map to the AutoPLANT “TAGNUMBER” property

  9. Search “NUMBER” (under properties tab). Then Click on "Override" button to override its definition (If the Property appears in Blue Colour it means that it is already Overridden)

  10. Click Custom Attributes->Add/Remove

  11. From the displayed list find “AutoPLANT_PDW_Property_MAP”

  12. Use Down arrow button to add "AutoPLANT_PDW_Property_MAP" to Applied custom attributes section.

  13. Click on OK.
  14. The new property map is added to the “NUMBER” property definition

For “PropertyName” (highlighted above), Type “TAGNUMBER” (which is the Auto PLANT property to which you want to map Number)

The Auto PLANT “TAG” property is also mapped to another property in schema: “ORDER_NUMBER”. This appears to create a conflict. Because ORDER_NUMBER is not used in Iso creation process, we need to remove TAG as data source for “ORDER_NUMBER

  15. Search “ORDER_NUMBER” (under properties tab). And click on "Override" button to override its definition.
  16. Remove Property Name value “TAG” from "AutoPLANT_PDW_Property_MAP" & "AutoPLANT_PDW_Catalogue_Property_MAP" attributes.

  17. Save the Schema changes and exit Class Editor.

B. Specify a User Label

To reflect the above schema changes in a connection label for the Pipe Nozzle, the user needs to specify a User label in Open Plant Isometric Configuration Manager.

  1. Launch Open Plant Isometric Configuration Manager.

  2. Select the respective Isometric style and pick the category “User Labels”.
  3. Click the Green button "+".

  4. Specify label definition as shown below:

  5. Save and Close the configuration manager.

To verify the results, Create an Isometric for a pipeline that connects to a Pipe Nozzle. We will be able to observe label displaying nozzle and equipment tag for the selected nozzle.

    C. Specify a User Label for Populating Nozzle Tag

If we want to populate only the "Tag Number" of Nozzle in the generated output as a label. This can be achieved by following steps: -

    1. Place a Nozzle in the model file. And give it "Tag Number" as desired.

    2. Launch Open Plant Isometric Manager in AutoPLANT Mode. Click on the "Settings".

    3.  Select the desired Isometric Style and click on  User labels.
In the User Labels section, click on "+" symbol to create a new User Label - Give it a Name and enter values for "Include","Text","Type" and "Cell Name" as shown in the below image.

    4. Save and Close Isometric Configuration window.

    5. Open any model file in AutoPLANT Modeler containing nozzle and Generate its Isometrics.

In the output we will be able to see a label showing the Tag number of the nozzle.
