Problem
Have there been any changes made to DataGroup Explorer in the CONNECT Edition?
Solution
Yes, several changes were made to the V8i DataGroup Explorer in the CONNECT Edition.
- The V8i "DataGroup Explorer" has been renamed to "Schedules", and is accessed from the Ribbon Bar using AECOsim (workflow) > Data/Reporting > Data > Schedules.

-
- Tables can be placed in a DGN as intelligent graphical elements to be included as part of a construction document set.
- Tables placed in a DGN file can be sub-divided into multiple tables and re-assembled. The Table maintains continuity as the table(s) are scaled, adding/subtracting rows dynamically.
- Bi-directional editing between the Tables and object instance data allows instance data to be edited in the Table or in the object instance properties. Tables can be exported to Excel and Access and support output types such as csv and xml
- DataGroup data in Tables is accessed directly from the Schedules utility with no CVS or Excel involvement.
- You can format headers from the Schedules utility, including multi-line headers.
- You can update data from the Schedules utility to the Table element with in-place edits and edits completed in Excel. The Place Table icon appears in the Schedules utility (formerly DataGroup Explorer), allowing you to take advantage of Tables for AECOsim Building Designer reports and schedules.
