 Product(s):Bentley Raceway & Cable Management
 Version(s):CONNECT Edition (10.04.00.31)
 Environment:N/A
 Area:Drawing Generation

Background

Bentley Raceway and Cable Management can create 2D extractions from a 3D raceway model. It can also generate tables with raceway and cable properties and associate them with each section cut. Those tables are dynamically linked with the 3D model and the project database and each design change can be carried over to the extraction file and tables by using the extraction update function.

In this Wiki article, you will learn how to generate 2D extractions and smart tables from a 3D model.

Steps to Accomplish

  1. Select WorkSpace and WorkSet from the application’s Workpage and Open 2DX_US.dgn.
For Example: WorkSpace: BRCM Metric Example
                               WorkSet: BRCM_EU_EN

  2. Open the Detail Design from the given modes, Select the entire raceway layout and click the 2D Extraction tool from 2D Extraction tab.
Now click 2D Extraction tool from Extractions section.

  3. 2D Extractions will get generated in View 2.

  4. Click the Place Section Plane tool from Sections.

  5. The Section Properties dialog will get open.
Enter the Properties in the fields as required.
  6. Enter a data point to place the section plane in View 1.

Note: Section must be placed on the Raceway model in View 1 and not on the 2D extraction in View 2.

  7. Now, click the Create Section tool.

  8. Select the new created Section Plane from step 6.
In Section Properties dialog, select the Profile Cumulated Cable Info(CableInfoCum.xml) and set Name as desired.
    Click OK and proceed.

  9. Place the Section plane properties ion View 2.

  10. Click the Create Section tool again, select the same section plane in view 1.
Select Cable Viz and Graphics (Cbl_Viz_Graphic.xml).

  11. Place the section A below the first section in view 2.

  12. Select the Cross Section RW Table/Detailed Cable Info (Cable_Detail.xml).

In the same way, you can place different section plane property tables from the provided section properties profiles.
