Background

In this Wiki article, the proper workflow to route the cables manually in routing models is shown.
Manual routing is the best way to route the cables when user wants to route the cable through particular raceways.

Steps to Accomplish

  1. Launch Bentley Raceway & Cable Management CONNECT Edition.
    Select WorkSpace and WorkSet and open ROUTING.dgn.


  2. Click Cable Manager tool in Equipment & Cable ribbon tab, Cables ribbon group.


  3. Select the cable to be routed manually for example LV.PLV3.001, right click and select Add Route under cable.


  4. Select the new route entry and right-click and select Route Raceway under Route in cable LV.PLV3.001.


  5. Select the first cable tray closest to source equipment i.e. PLV3.


  6. Now, select the cable tray closest to the target equipment i.e.CPMV3.


  7. Raceway IDs will get automatically populated in Cable Manager.


  8. In Cable Manager, select Refresh Routing Model in Routing Model tab.
  9. The Routing Mode and the Raceway between the source and target equipment details can be seen from Cable manager.
