Background

New documents such as DGN files can be created directly from ProjectWise Explorer using the tool Advanced Document Creation Wizard.

The Advanced Document Creation Wizard walks you through the process of creating documents. You can use the wizard to create a single document or to create multiple documents simultaneously. The wizard can be especially useful when you need to create multiple documents simultaneously using the same general criteria.This wiki article provides the steps to create multiple documents using the ProjectWise Advanced Document Creation wizard.

Steps To Accomplish

1. Open the Create Multiple Wizard
   Right-click > New > Multiple Documents
   Document > New > Multiple Documents
   
   
   
   
2. Create Multiple Wizard will open. Select the desired folder to store the document. Set the Number of Documents to be created and click OK.
   
   
   
   
   
3. Advance Document creation wizard will open.

   Proceed with the next steps (Steps 3 to 5) as described in Previous  article.

4. Create a Document page opens, which displays all the document properties entered during the document creation process.
   
   
   
   (Optional) If you want to open the newly created document immediately upon completion, turn on Launch associated application.
   
   Note: If you turn this option on and you are using the wizard to create multiple documents, multiple instances of the associated application will launch to open each of the documents you are creating. This may not be desired if you are creating a large number of documents.
   
   (Optional) If you want to apply all the previously selected configuration options to all the succeeding documents turn on Apply selected options to succeeding documents. 
   To proceed with creating the documents, click Next. 
   All the documents in the selection set will be created now using the criteria specified in this pass of the wizard.
   
   

5. If you did not turn on Apply selected options to succeeding documents, then after clicking Finish, the wizard will start over from the beginning to walk you through the next document in the selection set.
   Resolve Document Name Conflict dialog will open.
   If the checkbox Create new version is selected then the new version of the existing Document is created.
   
   
   

 

6. If the checkbox Create new version is not selected then the new Document with name and basic properties will be created.
   
   

 

7. In this way, multiple documents can be created using the Advanced Document Creation wizard.
