Background

Bentley Raceway and Cable Management CONNECT Edition allows you to create new raceway catalogs based on System and Catalog templates using the Raceway Catalog Creation tool.
This tool allows you to fully customize the catalogs in terms of fittings, dimensions and UDAs and will create the catalog files automatically In the standard dataset, thereby saving time and manual efforts.

Steps to Accomplish

1. Launch Bentley Raceway & Cable Management. Select a WorkSpace , WorkSet and open any drawing file.
   For example: Raceway drawing.
   
   
   
2. Select the Raceway Catalog Creation tool from the Manage ribbon tab and Project Setup ribbon group.
   
   
   
3. Select General Settings tab and New from Edit Mode.
   
   
   
4. Now set a New catalog name to NewRaceway or the name you wish to use.
   
   
   
5. You can enter the Manufacturer of the raceway system or could use the term Generic.
   
   
   
   Note: Manufacturer based raceway system catalogs will automatically take the manufacturer field and it can be edited as per the requirement.
   
   
6. Now Select Template System and Select Template Catalog as required.
   Here, for example, cable tray as template system and OBO Cable tray MKS 60 as template catalog is set.
   
   
   
   
   
7. In the Raceway size area, it is possible to change existing values or add new sizes to the new system.
   Select Click here to add a new row.
   
   
   
8. You can enter in the details for the new row as shown in the image below.
    
   Note: Width and Height will be used to create the 3D raceway parts.
   Trade Width/Height will be used in BOQ to create a Product Code and Loading Width/Depth will be used to calculate the fill/spare capacity.
    
9. Select New in Save in system and name the new system as needed and Press OK to save.
   
   
   
10. Press OK to the following message box.
    
    
    
11. You can route the new raceway system.
    Select Raceway Router from the Raceway ribbon tab.
    
    
    
12. Select the new created raceway system Bentley Cable Tray from the System pick list.
    
    
13. Select the new created raceway catalog OBO Bentley Cable Tray NewRaceway and new Variant Width:700mm/60mm.
    
    
14. Click Route and insert a straight part in the drawing.
    Click Update Database.
    
    
    
15. Open the Output Manager from Output ribbon tab.
    
    
16. Expand the Detail Design folder, and the BOQ folder, and then select the Detail_BOQ report. Press Select Resources and request lock for the Raceway.dgn.
    
    
    
17. Press Preview to create the BOQ with the newly created Raceway system/catalog/variant.
