Background

If you want to assign different levels to the generated 3D cables according to their voltage levels and later control the display of some specific 3D cables, you can use Bentley Raceway and Cable Management’s Options dialog to include the level overwrites to your project.

This article will teach you how to create custom levels for the 3D cables and to use them within your project.

Steps to Accomplish

  1. Launch Bentley Raceway and Cable Management.
Select a WorkSpace and WorkSet and open a Routing design file.

  2. Select the Options tool in the Manage ribbon tab and Project Setup ribbon group.

  3. Select the Cable Data tab and then select the tab 3D Cable Levels.

  4. Click Add to create an additional Overwrite.

Note: All 3D cable without a voltage level will be created on level E-3DCABLE and the related centerline on level E-3DCABLE-CL.

  5. Select the CAD Standards and then select the Levels tab.
Click on Add to create a custom level.

  6. Enter the level Description and level Name as per your requirement and click Apply to save.

  7. Enter the values for property of the newly created overwrite.
Assign a voltage to the overwrite, for example: IW.

  8. Click Apply to save the new Overwrite and then click OK to exit.

  9. Now the application will use the selected level in all 3D cable with Voltage Level IW.
