To Resolve 30° Pipe Elbow Placement issue in OpenPlant Modeler CONNECT Edition.

Background

There has been issues where user is not able to place the PIPE_ELBOW_30°_LONG_RADIUS in default way similar to 45° & 90° Pipe Elbo during Piping.




Even 30° Elbow is not able to be placed using Auto Elbow through Specification Generator by enabling the respective size of pipe as shown below.



Steps to Accomplish

  1. Launch OpenPlant Project Administator CE.

      
  2. In OpenPlant Project Administrator CONNECT Edition, Considering default Workspace and OpenPlantMetric project-
    Right Click on application OpenPlant Modeler and select Explore Here.

      
  3. Clicking on Explore here… launches Modeler folder for that project itself and its content is displayed directly.
    Go to System in Modeler folder.


     
  4. In System , Open AutoFittingRules.xml through notepad or notepad ++.



  5. In AutoFittingRules.xml type in search - Bend or go to Bend section directly in Piping.
     


    As highlighted in red it can be viewed in default way for 30° Elbow short and Long radius the description is LONG_RADIUS_30_DEGREE_PIPE_ELBOW & PIPE_ELBOW_30_DEGREE_SHORT_RADIUS respectively.

  6. Further for long radius 30° Elbow change the description from LONG_RADIUS_30_DEGREE_PIPE_ELBOW to PIPE_ELBOW_30_DEGREE_LONG_RADIUS and similarly for short radius 30° Elbow change the description from PIPE_ELBOW_30_DEGREE_SHORT_RADIUS to PIPE_ELBOW_SHORT_RADIUS_30_DEGREE



    Save the above changes and restart OPM CE .

  7. Launch OpenPlant Modeler CE.

  8. Place the Pipe and through Accudraw insert 30° and elbow of 30Degree getting placed directly.



    Thus 30° Elbow is getting placed in default way.
