The Plant Exchange (PXF) format used to transfer the data between different Bentley design applications and it contains intelligent information about components used in industrial plants. This format is extendable and can be updated according to client specifications or future needs, without affecting existing files. AutoPLANT Modeler can both create and read PXF files.
This Wiki article explains the steps on how to import the PXF file in AutoPLANT Modeler CONNECT Edition.
1.Click on Plant Exchange > PXF > Import as shown in below snapshot.
PXF Import command enables user to import Plant Exchange formatted files generated from the AutoPLANT PIPING applications, to create an AutoPLANT PIPING drawing and database
This command reads the PXF files and constructs AutoPLANT Piping components from the information contained there in.
2.When the PXF command is executed a file selection dialog displays the PXF files to import. User can select multiple files by holding down the Ctrl key and selecting the desired files from the dialog. After selecting files press OK.
3.The progress dialog displays the Component Class and Component ID as it is processed. The Log area of the dialog lists any error message and final status messages generated during the execution. Press OK to close the dialog.
4.User may need to Zoom Extents to view the drawing created from the PXF import files. Select File > Save to save the drawing and its associated AutoPLANT formatted drawing database. User can now load the model and work on it in AutoPLANT PIPING.
