How to Create Virtual Routes for short distances without distortion

Background

While working on projects where you have tight spaces to place the raceways or you have small wall penetrations to route cables through you can place Virtual Routes to complete the connections.

When you need to define bends in tight spaces, however, the virtual connection can get distorted as shown in the image below:

Steps to Resolve

This issue can be resolved in one of the following three ways:

  1. If the Virtual Connections are created by converting the SmartLines through the Raceway Generator tool, you need to Uncheck the Generate Fittings option from the Raceway Properties dialog box every time you use it.


  2. If you are routing the Cable Routes from the Raceway Router tool, you can change the Non standards parts bends value to <none> from the Preferences tab before routing.




  3. You can also change the default Preferences settings by turning off the nonstandard parts bends of the virtual connections from the CAT_Virtual_Connection_Pref_EN.xml file as shown in the image below.
