Background

In OpenPlant Modeler requirement is to hide the properties of components. The reason for the same is that in some projects there is not necessary to have all the default properties to be evoked while placement. So, instead of deleting them, we can hide those properties. Also, in the future, if the requirement is to evoke the same property for a different project, one can just simply unhide & use It as a reference. The below wiki article explains the procedures that need to be followed to hide the properties in OpenPlant Modeler.

As an example, will see how to hide a default property “BRANCH CODE”. Attached the snap below before hiding a property.

Steps to Accomplish

  1. Launch Bentley Class Editor.

  2. Navigate to the below-highlighted folder location of your desired workset. Select OpenPlant_3D.01.08.ecschema & click on Open to load this schema.

  3. Supplement the schemas OpenPlant_3D_Supplemental_Modelling & OpenPlant_3D_Supplemental_Modelling views as shown

  4. Navigate to Pipe class, properties & on BRANCH_CODE property add “Hide Property” as a custom attribute as shown
Note: One can navigate to any other class & property for the same.

  5. Make the fields True for both 2D & 3D as shown

  6. Save all changes.

  7. Place a Pipe & check the results as shown

Notice that, the Branch_Code property is hidden now as compared to the initial case.
