Background

In OpenPlant Isometrics Manager, the requirement is to add a dual unit dimension in the isometric. For e.g, in the metric project, the length of the pipe will be shown in meters. In some of the projects, the requirement is to achieve dual dimensions i.e Meter & Inch both for the pipe. A new tool has been introduced to achieve the same. By default, if we create an isometric in the Metric workspace the results are as follows

This wiki article will explain how to add dual unit dimensions in isometric.

Steps to Accomplish

  1. Launch OpenPlant Modeler CONNECT Edition.

  2. Select desired workspace > workset from the interface & Place any piping components.

  3. From pipeline manager, select pipeline, choose required isometric style (here CHECK) & auto-generate iso-sheet as shown

  4. Again, select pipeline & generate iso as shown

  5. Once done, the OpenPlant Isometric Manager interface will open. Launch style editor as shown

  6. Select the correct style, click on Miscellaneous under Dimensioning, check on the Use Dual dimension option & save the changes as shown

  7. Click on start. Once done, do right click & click on show isometric as shown

  8. Verify the results as shown

Notice that, dual dimensions ( i.e Meters & Inches) have been added.
