How to import equipment list in Bentley Raceway and Cable Management.

Background

In Bentley Raceway and Cable Management (BRCM) equipment list with the equipment co-ordinates can be imported and the imported equipment can be placed using the equipment import tool.
Equipment list is a excel spreadsheet containing the equipment IDs and their co-ordinates.


This article explains the equipment import tool used for the import of equipment list.

Steps to Accomplish

1. Launch the application and open Equipment DGN file.
 .


2. In Equipment & Cable tab, click on Equipment Import.



3..In the equipment import dialog the location of equipment list excel (.XLS) file and the mapping (.XML) file needs to be specified which will be used for import.



4. Select the equipment list excel file and its corresponding mapping file.



5.Click OK to proceed with the import process. A review differences dialog will be displayed containing the equipment Ids that will be imported.
Click on Select All and Accept the all the equipment for import. Click Update to proceed with the import process.



6. An information message will be displayed mentioning to select an equipment type for the imported equipment using the Equipment Manager. Click OK to proceed.


7. Equipment Manager will be displayed. Select any equipment from the the drop-down list that will apply to all the equipment imported and click OK.




8.The imported equipment will be placed in the design file.
