How to Hide the Actuator Prompt for Control Valve in OpenPlant PID V8i

Background

In OpenPlant PID V8i, the requirement is to Hide the bubble Actuator Prompt after the Control Valve Placement. Also, the Name of Control Valve should be placed automatically.

Steps To Accomplish

  1. Launch Bentley Class Editor.

  2. Open OpenPlant.PID.01.07.ecschema.xml schema.



  3. Supplement it with OpenPlant_Supplemental_Imperial.01.07.ecschema.xml Schema.



    Note:- Add missing references of OpenPlant Schemas

  4. Expand Classes, Go to Control Valve Switch to the Properties tab. Go to Instrument Bubble Class.



  5. Go to Property Custom Attributes and do changes as per the below image.



  6. Save all the schema changes.

  7. Reload OpenPlant PID. Place Pipeline.



  8. Place Control Valve on the pipeline. After customization in a Class editor, resulting no prompts for instrument bubble and placement is done.



  9. For getting the name of the control valve as a Tag, instead of the Size of the Control valve. Apply the changes to Annotation Custom Attributes as per the below image.





  10. Save all the schema changes.

  11. Reload OpenPlant PID. Place Pipeline and control Valve as mentioned in Procedure 8. The control valve name is shown in the below image.
