Resolving the "Could not obtain data from source" error while using Place Table tool

Problem Description

How can I resolve the "Could not obtain data from source" error in the image below while using the Place Table tool in OpenBuildings Designer?

 

Solution

Please follow the below steps through which you can resolve this error.

  1. When you see this error while using the Place Table tool to import data from Excel, open Control Panel > Programs and Features and search for “Microsoft 365 Apps for enterprise”.

   

  1. Next, use Quick Repair mode to repair your Microsoft 365 Apps and then restart OpenBuildings Designer.

 

  1. Finally, after restarting OpenBuildings Designer you should see that when using the Place Table tool you are no longer getting any errors.
