How to Identify the Fitting Placement Issue on Pipe Run in OpenPlant PID

Background

In OpenPlant PID V8i, requirement is to insert fitting placement and it will break the pipeline. By default, the placement of 'Y-Strainer'  doesn't break the pipeline. Attached below is the snap for the same. This wiki article explains the procedure for it.



Steps To Accomplish

  1. Launch OpenPlant PID v8i.



  2. Navigate Tools and click on Managers > Component Manager as shown below.



  3.  Search for Y_STRAINER class. Follow bullet points as shown



  4. Notice that no connecting points are defined here. Define connect points as shown below



  5. Click on Save and save settings.

  6. Switch to the drawing file and insert Y-Strainer. Now It should be able to break the pipe run upon insert as well relationship can be established with pipe run & strainer
