How to add the Reattach Instrument Bubble and Annotation option in the OpenPlant PID

Background


In OpenPlant PID, requirement is to have a method of reattaching an inline instruments, bubble, and instrument line in OpenPlant PID. This is for all inline instruments including control valves, flow meters, orifices etc. If a user accidentally deletes an inline instruments bubble and annotation, there is no way to get this back unless the user initiates an immediate undo or deletes the instrument and reinserts it. This wiki article explains the procedure for it.

Steps to Accomplish

  1. Launch OpenPlant PID CONNECT Edition in your desired workset.

  2. Right click on white space of ribbon & select Customize Ribbon as shown below

  3. Under Customize Ribbon dialog, from right hand pane (Customize the Ribbon section). Expand OpenPlant PID node and further expand Instrument Galleries. Refer image below



  4.  Right click on loop node & select Add New Button as shown below.   

  5. Enter desired button name Reattach Instrument Bubble hereRefer image below.



  6. For added button, from Properties, AddDescription asReattach Instrument Bubble and define pid insert OpenPlant_PID INSTRUMENT_ANNOTATION key-in.

  7.  Select Size as Large & click on Icon Name to define your custom icon. Click on Apply Refer image below



  8. In Instrument galleries ribbon group, this add the new icon in the ribbon “Reattach Instrument Bubble” as shown below




  9. Click on the Reattach Instrument Bubble ribbon tool and it will prompt you the same annotation reattach the instrument bubble window



  10. Verify the result.
